La importancia creciente de la información personal ha suscitado un amplio debate sobre las condiciones de la privacidad en el internet ubicuo. La paradoja de la privacidad pretende explicar, desde modelos de decisión racional, las contradicciones entre la preocupación declarada por la privacidad digital y el comportamiento real en las plataformas móviles. Se propone un análisis de las emociones que aparecen cuando los usuarios conocen la difusión no autorizada de datos personales. Se ha realizado una encuesta a usuarios de teléfonos inteligentes en fechas próximas al caso de Cambridge Analytica / Facebook para analizar la naturaleza e intensidad de las emociones declaradas en relación al conocimiento de un mal uso por terceros de su información personal. Los resultados sustentan la paradoja de la privacidad desde una perspectiva emocional: aunque las emociones declaradas son intensas, no hay relación entre la gestión que los usuarios hacen de sus ajustes de privacidad en redes sociales y aplicaciones móviles y la naturaleza e intensidad de las emociones reportadas.
