This paper aims to examine the Ibero-American journals of education in SciELO Citation Index and in Emerging Source Citation Index, which are two new products of Web of Science. Ibero-American journals of education are analyzed both individually and jointly, considering their coverage in comparison with other external data bases (Scopus, Redalyc, Google Scholar Metrics, and Social Sciences Citation Index) as well as the presence of these journals in other databases. Other aspects such as national representation, type of publisher, frequency, the age and the average production of scientific articles are considered. All in all, Web of Science has a better coverage in the area of Ibero-American education as compared with its rival, Scopus.
