The present study was of a quantitative approach, with non-probabilistic sampling by quota, whose objective was to identify the degree of knowledge that pregnant women in the state of Chihuahua have regarding the benefits of stem cells from the umbilical cord, as well as their disposition. regarding the donation and wanting to receive more information. The sample consisted of 123 random pregnant women, in any trimester of pregnancy, at any age, as long as they were available. The data were obtained by conducting face-to-face or telephone surveys. As a result, most of the participating pregnant women had zero knowledge about the umbilical cord, stem cells, their benefits and usefulness. However, the majority presented a positive attitude regarding donating the umbilical cord and wanting to receive more information. In conclusion, the need for more research within the state of Chihuahua is observed, in order to normalize the usefulness of stem cells from the umbilical cord and that the population has knowledge about their involvement, and is within their treatment options in any pathology.
