Oriol Amatis a professor of financial economics and accounting at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, a position he has held since 2001.

His research has focused primarily on the detection of accounting frauds and the key success factors for businesses, with publications in esteemed journals like the Journal of Business Ethics and the European Accounting Review. In university administration, Amat has held numerous leadership roles, including rector of Pompeu Fabra University, dean of the UPF Barcelona School of Management, and director of the department of economics and business.
