International audience; Thanks to the important and increasing growth of the Carpooling phenomenon throughout the world, many researchers have particularly focused their efforts on this concept. Researches led to many systems affording carpooling service. However, most of those systems present multiple drawbacks regarding automation, functionalities, accessibility, etc. In this paper, we focus on carpooling concept with an innovative view that tackle the problem of handling real time users requests. We aim at improving the quality of service so that subscribers could obtain a real time generated responses when needed. In order to deal with this problem, automatic tools are of compelling need. Furthermore, responses should be as efficient as possible with regards to the optimization criteria fixed up. In fact, there are two optimization sides in our system. It must not only perform different complex tasks within a reasonable runtime execution, but also provide responses that should meet users requirements in terms of trip duration and waiting time. Thus, we introduce a revolutionary system for Optimized Real Time Carpooling (ORTiC) based on a novel modeling of geographical areas served by carpooling vehicles. For this purpose, multiple techniques are required in order to optimize users requests processing. We especially consider the problem of constructing an adequate structure in order to set up an appropriate model which enables the system to provide a carpooling service in an optimized way (promptly and efficiently).
