Lifelong learning must respond to the demands of a digital transformation that affects the way we think and reason, productive systems, business and jobs, talent in its conceptual and operational dimensions and the adequacy of competences to strategic demands in management and production. Many sectors have to rethink their training, especially among small companies and self-employed workers in particular. Lifelong learning is necessary so that citizens and systems understand change and can adjust to its consequences without major upheavals. Active learning and methodologies based on projects, the case method and inverse methodologies are fundamental. MOOCs have revolutionised training and albeit with some problems and with less prominence than expected, have opened up new paths with experiences full of content and innovative visions.
